Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in ensuring a blind review have been followed. The text submitted to a peer-reviewed section has had the authors' names removed. If an author is cited, "Author" and year are used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of author's name, paper title, etc. The author's name has also been removed from the document's Properties, which in Microsoft Word is found in the File menu.
  • All author information should be omitted from the main article text. Instead, it should be provided in a seperate document with author names and affiliations.

Author Guidelines

All papers will be evaluated by at least two reviewers. Once approved by the Editorial Board, the papers will be queued for layout process and publishing in the International Journal about Parents in Education (IJPE). The accepted articles may be published in the following few months.

The word limit of a full paper is 7.000 words, excluding the reference list and tables. Manuscripts should be double spaced and in size 12 font. They must be prepared in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.).

Manuscripts should be submitted in one file, including the following sections:

- Title page with author names,

- Keywords

- An abstract (maximum 150 words),

- The main text,

- References

- Tables and figures (if applicable).

- Acknowledgments (if applicable)

Title page with author names: The title of the paper and the names of the authors should be given in full, together with the addresses of the institutions. A short title will be used as a running head for the published articles. Type the name of the author(s) in the order of their contribution and include full contact details (email, telephone, fax, address) and institutional affiliation.

Keywords: Authors are asked to list up to 7 keywords.

Abstract: Abstract should be a concise summary (maximum 150 words) of the research and major conclusions. It should outline the aims of the study, methodology, and the main findings.

Main text: Please begin the text on a new page,. The sections of the text follow each other without a page break.

References: IJPE uses the APA-style system

Tables and Figures should be placed at the end of the manuscript (one table or figure on each page) and need titles and explanatory legends where appropriate. Tables and Figures should not duplicate information presented in the text and their meaning should be understandable without reference to textual information.

Acknowledgments: Where appropriate, submitted manuscripts can include an acknowledgments section, which briefly recognises important contributions of other parties to either the empirical research (e.g, funding, analyses) or to the production of the manuscript (e.g., administrative duties, proof reading).

If accepted, the paper will be published as an open access publication. When submitting the final version of the accepted article, the author(s) must complete and sign a licence to publish agreement. Please note that this form must be signed by all authors.
